ABOUT ANNIE

Annie Marx, from Ridgewood, New Jersey, is a freelance dance artist, educator, and marketer based in the New Jersey / New York City area.
Annie graduated Magna Cum Laude from Elon University, where she earned her B.F.A. in Dance Performance & Choreography and B.A. in Strategic Communications. She is a proud member of Delta Chi Xi, Omicron Delta Kappa Leadership Honors Society, and Lambda Pi Eta Communications Honor Society.
While at Elon, Annie studied under Deborah Leamy, Gaspard Louis, Gerri Houlihan, Jen Guy Metcalf, Justin Tornow, Lauren Kearns, Renay Aumiller, Sarah Tourek, and Sayward Grindley.
At Elon and elsewhere, Annie has performed works by Angelo Egarese, Ashley “Robi” Robicheaux, Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Company, Jason Aryeh, Justin Tornow, Jen Guy Metcalf, Kira Blazek, Lauren Kearns, Matt Pardo, and Renay Aumiller.
Annie has had the opportunity to train and perform at intensives and festivals, including mignolo dance, The Rock School, The Ailey School, and the American Dance Festival.
As a choreographer, Annie's work “Unfold” (2018) was selected to perform at the American College Dance Association. “Contagion” (2019) was selected to perform alongside faculty work in the 2019 Fall Dance Concert.
Recently, she has choreographed for musical theater productions at Porch Light Studio, Stage & Schools. Her credits here include 9 to 5, Descendents, Matilda, Once Upon a Mattress, and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.
Annie currently works as a Lead Teacher/Choreographer at Porch Light Productions, Dance Instructor at Kick Dance Studio, and Fitness Instructor at Perspirology.
